As another year draws close to an end, we start looking forward to festivities and new beginnings. At this time of year, the amount of new properties that come to the market naturally decreases, but buyer demand here at Julian Marks is still strong. This scenario creates a competitive environment as buyers chase a limited number of available quality properties. Our results speak for themselves. According to the Financial Times, mortgage providers point to a lack of properties for sale which has led to an increase in property values of 0.9% in October. The Bank of England has decided to hold the base interest rate at 5.25% for the second consecutive month. A decision to keep the rate static was widely expected with inflation at 6.7%, apparently under control, albeit not dropping.
Over the last two months, Julian Marks has sold 49 properties with the closest competitor selling just 19. This information was taken from Rightmove on 1st November 2023 for the PL9 postcode areas for the period 1st September – 31st October.
